Skylotec SPEED är en patenteradt glidlåsn för höghöjdssystem från Skylotec. Principen bakom SPEED är enkel: Säkerhetsbulten sitter dold i huset och skyddas där mot oönskad åtkomst. Genom en extra låsspak fungerar SPEED under klättring som en pull-back-löpare. Löparen håller sig nära klättraren så att fallsträckan alltid blir kort. Detta skapar komfort under klättringen och minimerar fallrelaterade skador. Om pull-back-funktionen inte fungerar, på grund av misstag eller ogynnsamma förhållanden, kan löparen endast nå en fast fördefinerad maxhastighet. Om löparen överskrider denna hastighet träder en oberoende andra säkerhetsfunktion in: En centrifugalbroms svänger ut och löparen blockeras.
